Howdy folks! Does anybody really read this? If you do, here's s'more stuff!:

I'm still working full-time as a graphic designer for Little Caesars Enterprises in Detroit. The Caesars experience has been great. I've learned a lot about marketing and have gotten to do some really cool stuff (like play softball at Comerica Park!).

I wrote and illustrated my first children's book, How Do You Do, Mr. Hoo-Hoo? which I am currently shopping to publishers. I've written two more books since then, Gimmee Five! and Awesome Monster Party, which I hope to illustrate soon. I still do occasional freelance illustration, but I hope to devote my so-called "free" time to children's books in the future.

Other semi-recent items of note: I had an article about illustration published in Big Idea (which you can read here) and I made fun of The Hulk in Entertainment Weekly (see the first letter)!

I continue teaching in the Illustration Department at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

Before Little Caesars I worked for three years as a full-time illustrator and designer working in an art studio in the Detroit-area called Colorforms. I liked working in an art studio because I was able to work in many different styles.

Some career highlights: This is a painting I did when I was three. It was all downhill from there. But, nevertheless, in 2001 the Herman Miller Office Hockey brochure I illustrated was featured Communication Arts Design Annual. I also won a Bronze Caddy at the 2001 Caddy Awards (The Oscars for the Detroit advertising community) for the design of the Colorforms Trunk Show Poster. The show won a 2002 Silver ADDY and a 2001 Silver Caddy! In 1999, I won Best of Show at the Scarab Club Art & Design Awards, for the Carrot Poster I illustrated. That’s about all the bragging I can stomach. My next award-winning piece will be the one I do for you!

On the personal side, I got married to my wife Heather in September of 2000. Here we are on our wedding day (I’m the bald one). Heather recently got accepted and is starting Interior Design classes at CCS! Good work, Heather!

On May 15th, 2002, we added baby Heath to our lineup. The kid got around in his first few months. Here he is with Hall of Fame baseball announcer, Ernie Harwell, and Santa and The Stanley Cup. Heath and I collaborated for the first time to make Heather's Xmas present in 2002. As you can see he's a bit of an abstract expressionist and I'm stuck in boring ol' realism! The guy loves Spiderman! And if you don't believe me--check this out!

On February 23rd, 2004, we added lil' baby Haven. She keeps getting bigger and bigger! Here she is when we caught her giving her brother's Spidey "a bath." Here are Heath and Haven together.

Bye, now!
